Good Afternoon, Everyone:
Last week on June 6 we celebrated the 80th anniversary of the Normandy Invasion. This solemn occasion served as a reminder of the courage and sacrifice displayed by the brave soldiers who stormed the beaches that day. And as a reminder that freedom is not free.
35 years ago, in 1989 as a young Army officer I was honored to join my fellow soldiers in the American cemetery overlooking Omaha Beach for the 45th anniversary of the Normandy Invasion. It is something that I will never forget.
I was very proud to serve this county in uniform and during combat operations many years later. God bless the United States of America!

As always, thank you to the citizens of District 4 and DeKalb County for affording me this opportunity to serve. It is indeed an honor.
